Planned Roadwork for Northwest Missouri, Sept. 28-Oct. 4
St. Joseph, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in the Northwest Missouri region for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
There may be moving operations, such as mowing, brush cutting and litter removal, throughout the region in addition to the work mentioned below. Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. Check the MoDOT Traveler Information Map at http://traveler.modot.org, or download the app for updated information.

Atchison County
U.S. Route 46 – Resurfacing project from U.S. Route 59 to the Nodaway River through late October. The road will be narrowed to one lane. with an 11-foot width restriction. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)
U.S. Route 136 – Resurfacing project from I-29 to U.S. Route 71, east of the Burlington Junction. The road will be narrowed to one lane with an 11-foot width restriction. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)
Route J – CLOSED for pavement repair from U.S. Route 136 to 220th Street, Sept. 28, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route J – CLOSED for pavement repair from 230th Street to Route KK, Sept. 28, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route W – CLOSED for pavement repair from275th Street to 285th Street, Sept. 28, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route 111 – CLOSED for pavement repair from Kettle Avenue to Route Z, Sept. 29, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route U – CLOSED for pavement repair from 250th Street to Route E, Sept. 29, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route N – CLOSED for pavement repair from 290th Street to 300th Street, Sept. 30, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route N – CLOSED for pavement repair from 220th Street to 230th Street, Sept. 30, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route AA – CLOSED for pavement repair from O Avenue to Z Avenue, Sept. 30, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route O – CLOSED for pavement repair from 110th Street to the Iowa state line, Oct. 1, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route O – CLOSED for pavement repair from 160th Street to 170th Street, Oct. 1, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Buchanan County
U.S. Route 59/Route 752/Route U – CLOSED northbound between Ohio Street and Alabama Street beginning Sept. 30 for an intersection improvement project through September 2027. (Contractor: Amino Bros. Interstate29 – Resurfacing project from Pigeon Creek (mile marker 39.8) to the Platte County line (mile marker 31) through mid-October 2026. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)
I-229 – CLOSED around-the-clock for biannual bridge inspection and routine maintenance, between U.S. Route 36 and Highland Avenue, Sept. 28 – Oct. 2. The Double-Decker Bridge along with all on/off ramps will be closed.
U.S. Route 169 – Pavement smoothing at Route FF intersection improvement project, Sept. 28. (Contractor: Leavenworth Excavating & Equipment Company, Inc.)
Caldwell County

U.S. Route 36 – Intersection improvement project at Bob F. Griffin Road, through November 2026. U.S. Route 36 will be narrowed to one lane, with an 11-foot width restriction. There are no right turns from northbound Bob Griffin Road to eastbound U.S. Route 36 or from southbound Bob Griffin Road to westbound U.S. Route 36. (Contractor: Clarkson Construction Company).
U.S. Route 36 – Culvert replacement westbound at Ogle Road, Sept. 28. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane, with no to/from access at Ogle Road, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Grundy County
Route WW – CLOSED daily for resurfacing project from Route 6 to Route W, Sept. 28-Oct. 2. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.)

I-35 – Resurfacing project from the Iowa state line to Route N near Eagleville through October 2026. An 11-foot width restriction will be in place. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons)
Holt County
I-29 – Concrete replacement southbound at the 72.0 mile marker, Sept. 28-29. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane around the clock.
I-29 – Concrete replacement southbound at the 68.6 mile marker, Sept. 29-Oct. 1. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane around the clock.
I-29 – Concrete replacement northbound at the 70.8 mile marker, Oct. 1-2. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane around the clock.
Linn County
U.S. Route 36 – Concrete replacement westbound from Katy Drive to Route F, Sept. 28-30. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane around the clock.
